Through the good offices of PEN Hong Kong, I had the good fortune of attending a writing workshop conducted by Andrei Kurkov, the celebrated author from Ukraine.
Andrei's generosity was evident from the get go as he delved into his creative process before encouraging us to follow suit by coming up with ideas as a group that we could fashion into a narrative. Before long we had an engaging plot and intriguing characters and an urge to go home and begin writing immediately. It was a masterful evening of show and tell at its very best.
